Initially, I used carrots as bait, which proved to be quite effective. However, the last time, I decided to go bait-free, and to my surprise, the trap still worked like a charm! One of the best features of this product is that it provides a clean catch. There is no mess, and the gophers are left fully intact with no blood. This aspect makes it much easier to dispose of the gophers and maintain a tidy yard. On one occasion, a gopher was trapped but remained stuck in the contraption. Instead of going through the hassle of fishing it out, I opted to purchase another one of these fantastic traps. That's how much I believe in this product! I plan to set the trap again in the same hole tomorrow to ensure any remaining gophers are removed from my yard. This product has been an absolute lifesaver, and I highly recommend it to anyone battling pocket gophers.
